Well friends, it’s that time of year! The air is crisp with the promise of snow, you’ve donned your coziest sweaters, and the sun disappears earlier each night while you snuggle up inside with a cup of hot chocolate and watch Christmas movie marathons. Or you could be like me, and enjoying weather reminiscent of an early arrival of spring, but that’s neither here nor there.

Even though I grew up in Pittsburgh (also not too far from Gettysburg), I only recently visited Gettysburg for the first time. I’m so glad I finally made it! While America is considered young compared to most other countries, Gettysburg is so full of history that it makes you forget how short a time we have really been here.
On 31 October 2012, my dream came true. I got to spend Halloween at Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania. For any other Halloween lovers out there, this is one activity I highly recommend checking off your bucket list. Although the logistics of the trip weren’t perfect, it’s still one of my favorite memories.
